John Virga has been practicing in Sacramento for over five decades. John was born and raised in Sacramento. His brother Michael J. Virga, his father-in-law William A. White and his nephew Michael G. Virga were Sacramento Superior Court judges. He is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley and the University of Santa Clara Law.
After spending the first four years of his career as a Sacramento County Deputy District Attorney, he left to start his own firm. Since that time, he has focused on criminal defense and personal injury. John has tried well over 100 trials including both civil and criminal trials. He is one of the few attorneys to prevail in the criminal defense of a death penalty case and to secure a multimillion-dollar civil award. He is the only lawyer to take the testimony of a United States President in a criminal case. John is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
While growing up in Sacramento, John was an active baseball player and is an inductee of the The La Salle Club Baseball Hall of Fame. Additionally, John managed multiple world championship boxers.
Megan’s law practice focuses on the areas of criminal defense and plaintiff personal injury, continuing a tradition of excellence her father John, began in 1974.
Megan represents clients in a wide range of criminal cases defending those charged with manslaughter, robbery, burglary, assault, drugs, guns, gangs, evading, domestic violence, child endangerment, DUIs, hit and run, and prostitution. Megan is in the criminal court almost everyday and can be found in multiple counties including, Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, and Solano. She has worked at Virga Law Firm alongside her father for over 25 years. She has been an attorney for more than 20 years fighting for justice for her clients. Megan’s Grandfather, Uncle, and Cousin have all been distinguished judges on the Sacramento County Superior Court Bench.
In addition to her criminal defense practice, Megan is passionate ensuring clients receive the best financial recovery for their personal injuries suffered during a car accident or dog bite.
Megan graduated from Cal State University, Long Beach and Lincoln Law School. She is a member of the California DUI Lawyers Association, Sacramento County Bar Association, Women Lawyers of Sacramento, and the Capitol City Trial Lawyers Association. In her free time Megan and her husband Sam enjoy working out, riding bikes, walking their German Shepard Rocco, spending time with Family and eating at her family’s restaurants, Jack’s Urban Eats, Paesano’s, Pronto, and Uncle Vito’s.
